When does the season start and end?

The season starts the last Friday in July.  The regular season ends early November.  Playoffs can last into the first or second week of December.

    What is the practice commitment?

Prior to the first game of the season, practices run Monday through Friday evenings.  There maybe some Saturday practices and/or scrimmages.  Practices run for 2 hours each.  Once the season starts, practices are normally Tuesday-Thursday evenings.  Some coaches may have a walk through, or no hitting practice, on Fridays.

Where and when are practices held?

Practice locations vary since we have so many teams.   Practices are normally at one of the city parks in the Valencia area, at Valencia High School, or Hart High School.  Times vary but are normally week nights.  Younger teams usually practice from about 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and older teams usually practice from about 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.   Times usually come down to when the coach is available and the location available for the coaches time slot.

    Where are games played?

Home games are played at Hart High School & Valencia High School

Away games can be at any other teams field location who are members of the PYFL.  You can go to the PYFL web site for details: http://www.eteamz.com/PacificYouthFootball/locations/
Away games are typically in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Simi Valley, or Conejo Valley (Thousand Oaks, Moorepark, Camarillo, Newbury Park, Oxnard, Ventura, etc).  Most away games are within about a 45 minute drive.

    How many games per season?

There are usually 7-8 regular season games and you can plan on having 3-5 away games per season depending on scheduling.  There are additional games if your team makes the playoffs.  Playoffs are single elimination.  If your team does not make the playoffs they may be invited to play in an end of season invitational tournament.

What do I do if I will be out of town on sign up day?
Online registration is available anywhere you have internet access.  A friend can sign up for you. Registration is based on first come first serve.

When will I know what team I am on?

The first & second days of practice (Fri. & Sat.) are evaluation days.  The league draft takes place on Sunday following the first two days of practice.  You should be contacted by your coach Sunday evening (July 29th, 2012), or at the latest early Monday so you know where to report for Monday nights practice.

How many teams will there be this year in the SCVAA Warrior Football program?

We have estimated that the optimum number of players for the SCVAA Warrior Football program for 2012 to be between 350 to 425 players or 18 to 19 teams. We would love to accommodate more players, however, aside from the availability of qualified coaches, the availability of practice and game fields also limit and dictate our enrollment. It should be noted that the SCVAA Warrior Football program is the largest chapter in the PYFL ahead of Cities such as Burbank, Moorpark, Chatsworth, Westlake and Simi Valley.

Why have fees increased this year?

Most expenses and costs associated with the SCVAA Warrior Football program have steadily increased over the past several years and the fees have been increased to reflect those changes. The SCVAA Warrior Football program is making every effort to minimize costs, yet at the same time deliver a competitive, quality program which will develop your son’s football skills and provide a fun and safe environment to do so.  SCVAA Warrior Football fees are lower than most other chapters.
